Dr. Sylvain Lother

Dr. Lother is an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba, sections of Infectious Diseases and Critical Care. He is an early career clinician-investigator, currently completing a Masters of Science in Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. His thesis work is focused on evaluating the treatment effects of antithrombotics in community acquired pneumonia. Dr. Lother has developed an expertise in clinical trials through his work as site principal investigator and co-investigator for 19 RCTs through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. He has over 35 peer reviewed publications including 3 RCT publications as co-author in the New England Journal of Medicine. He has continued to contribute to a rapidly expanding understanding of COVID-19 and other pneumonia syndromes in Manitoba and elsewhere.
